How to get involved, and become a resident

While it is technically possible to become a Linden member in other ways, usually someone interested in becoming a member of Linden Cohousing first becomes a Linden Friend.  Linden Friends enjoy several benefits including:

  • Early notice for sales of units
  • Eligibility to rent units (short and long-term)
  • Invitations to select cohousing activities
  • Delivery of The Linden Leaf newsletter

The first step in becoming a Linden Friend is to attend an orientation that helps you become familiar with cohousing in general and living at Linden in particular.

Once you’ve completed the orientation, you would pay an initial fee to cover Individual/Household benefits through the end of the calendar year.  Currently, the initial fee is $50. However, those who self-declare they meet the income requirements for an Affordable Unit would pay only $15.  Linden Friends renew their membership each year with a $15 renewal fee.

Linden Friends are expected to engage with Linden Members and the community.  Engagement could include community meetings, social events, community meals, or a workday.
