Individual units
There are 45 units at Linden Cohousing:
- 12 one-bedroom units, ranging in size from 670 to 780 sq ft,.
- 19 two-bedroom units, ranging from 890 to 1115 sq ft,
- 14 three-bedroom units, ranging from 1033 to 1513 sq ft.
Each unit has a large open-concept area, with a kitchen and living/dining room area, as well as either one or two bathrooms and a patio (first floor) or balcony. Units are plumbed for washers and dryers, but many members choose instead to make use of the common laundry areas.
Units are designed for accessibility, with wide doorways, ideal for aging in place.
Common House
Our Great Room is the nucleus for the Linden Cohousing Community. It is a flexible space which facilitates common meals or dance parties, learning workshops or art shows, business meetings, coffee groups or game nights. The common Kitchen is the hub for preparing and serving community meals. It also may serve as an extension of our personal kitchens and can be scheduled for classes and projects.
The Living Room is a welcoming space, softer and warmer than the Group Room, with comfy seating, acoustically suited to music and media playing, and a library for shared books, movies and games. The Kids’ Room is an inviting space where children can feel safe to explore, interact with others, and feel free to be themselves.
The Arts and Crafts Studio is a communal and collaborative space to cultivate and cross-pollinate creative energies among us. The Fitness Room, with a variety of equipment, is for the use of our whole community and its guests.
Other Indoor Shared Spaces
Lounges on the 2nd and 3rd floors provide gathering spaces to foster community for residents and their guests, as well as to provide a sitting area external to individual units. They are used for small social gatherings or group meetings, card playing and doing puzzles, musical activities, as well as individual activities such as reading or needlework.
Guest Rooms on the 2nd and 3rd floor can be reserved for family or friends visiting from out of town: the 2nd floor guest room is a single room with a queen sized bed and its own bathroom, the 3rd floor guest room consists of a suite with two bedrooms, a small sitting room and a bathroom.
On each of our three floors, there is a shared laundry room, with two washing machines and two dryers in each.
